For many years, I have been a constructivist. For many years, I have
wished for a major exhibition of constructivist, concrete, geometrically
abstract art. Constructivist art is the appropriate artform for the technical
age. As a space, we had envisioned a factory floor and we were searching for a
corresponding venue in Lower Austria for Geometrica; that is how we came
upon Tulln and the hangar: a giant ‘Zeppelin’ and inside it screwed-together
scaffolding made of pipes: a geometric space, a geometric structure for
geometric pictures and sculptures: utilitarian functions and aesthetic
functions, technical constructions and aesthetic constructions.
