The intention is neither to search for a unifying theory nor to propagandistically
fight for approaches, but rather to produce work-based analyses of the given in
artistic practice and reflection. The event aims at critical, differentiating comparisons
of the various approaches. An exhibition in connection with the permanent
site-specific installations at Buchberg provides the opportunity to test out
the analyses on specific works.
(Excerpt from the invitation to the 4th Buchberg Art Talk)
The title of the 4th Buchberg Art Talk, ‘Das gequälte Quadrat’ [The Tormented Square], refers to a work of the same name by Peter Weibel from 1976, which can be found in the mumok collection.
