Trajectories through interzonal spaces
Workshop ″Interzonal Laboratory“ 2023 at Buchberg Castle and the surrounding area
Exhibition at an Open House at Kunstraum Buchberg on 22nd and 23rd June, 2024
Within the framework of their Master`s degree study in Architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, the students EIKE FIEDLER, SOFIA ANTUNES GAMEIRO, OTTO JAAX and MARIANA PEREZANTA (teachers: NORBERT STEINER and SUSANNE ZOTTL, IKA Design Studio and Seminar MArch, Platform CMT Construction Material Technology, winter semester 2023/2024) developed future scenarios for Buchberg by creating physical models and large-scale drawings based on personal observations and documentations.
The process started with a workshop where the students explored interzonal spaces along river Kamp, covering the entire valley, the hydro power station, Buchberg Castle and its art spaces (Kunstraum Buchberg) and its surrounding landscape garden.
After a first presentation of the resulting works in October 2023 (Open Studio Days at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna) the final students` works were exhibited at an Open House at Kunstraum Buchberg in June 2024.
