The starting point for this spatial concept was the idea of folding up
the spatial endpoints (corners). Of the eight corners in the space, four are
folded into the space, thereby giving the volume the appearance of pyramid
elements. The juxtaposition of the pyramids and the corners illustrates the
notion that a positive and a negative corner formation stand diametrically
opposite one another in the space, meaning that the axes of the pyramids meet
exactly in the vertexes of the opposite negative shapes. By juxtaposing the
suspenseful contrasting pairs, a geometric relationship is created that positions
the compositional concept in a clear reference framework. Colourfully filling
the corner elements with primary colours is intended to structure and support
the complexity of the composition. The surfaces of the walls, floor and ceiling
are coated in the neutral, achromatic shades of black and white, which
emphasise the impact of this colourful installation.
