Pergola
Stone pilasters, concrete, stainless steel
2,500 x 320 x 240 cm
Designs 1997/1999, execution 2001
Site: former bastion garden
The pilasters built from natural stones with a base of 60 x 50 cm and a
height of 240 cm are restored and a destroyed pilaster replaced with a concrete
pilaster with shuttering-smooth surfaces. All pilasters are given a new,
weather-resistant top in which approximately 10 cm tall supports are set for
the pergola roof. The pergola roof is grating made of stainless steel,
rectangular tubes (40 x 80 mm) installed over the width of the path (320 cm) and
the pilasters positioned at a distance of 330 cm. The longitudinal and lateral
division of the grating results in two rows and the sections necessary for 76 letters
dissolved into rectangles and triangles that create the words ‘LAUBENGANG FUER
